Leading Expeditions

2021 Rocky Mountain Leaders Expedition on a summit.

Adventure. Explore. Lead.

Develop your leadership skills in a new and exciting way through the Leading Expeditions Program!

Leading Expeditions is a transformational co-curricular opportunity to immerse yourself in the study and application of leadership. These experiences allow you to apply knowledge gained in the classroom (BUSMHR 3500: High Stakes Leadership) during an exhilarating outdoor adventure in one the most beautiful settings in the U.S.

In 2021, we expanded to three expeditions for all eligible undergraduate students: Seneca Leaders Expedition, Rocky Mountains Leaders Expedition and Buckeye Leaders Expedition. All undergraduate students who complete the class accompanied with the expedition will receive three credit hours. The Leading Expeditions program is also eligible for credit within the Dean's Leadership Academy.

Program Requirements

  • Participants must enroll in the 3.0 CR High Stakes Leadership course (BUSMHR 3500) in SP'24 semester, prior to their scheduled expedition and a 1.5 CR course with their corresponding expedition (BUSMHR 3501) in AU'24 semester. Students will receive 4.5 CR total for participating in the program.
  • Students must be graduating in AU'24 semester or later to participate.
