BUILD Leadership Assessment

Your leadership journey begins with BUILD.

The process of developing as a leader is a journey. At Max M. Fisher College of Business, we believe there is more than one way to effectively lead - Each individual has their own unique blend of skills and values that influence their personal leadership style. Our goal at the Fisher Leadership Initiative is to help our students both understand their strengths and weaknesses while developing effective leadership behaviors to use during and after their academic career. Every student's journey begins by completing the BUILD Leadership Assessment©.

The BUILD Leadership Assessment© is a behavioral-based, self-other instrument created by Dr. Timothy A. Judge and his team of researchers at The Ohio State University. Unlike many commonly used assessment tools, BUILD is grounded in the science of leadership – the true study of what makes leaders and organizations effective – and includes 18 core leadership competencies to lead oneself (Self-Leadership), to lead groups and teams (Relational Skills), and to lead organizations and communities (Stewardship). The universally-applicable assessment is designed for leaders at all developmental and career levels and identifies their current leadership strengths and weaknesses through a dynamic, individualized report.
